chawan「 dream 」

a chawan created in collaboration between matcháti and nadiia｡

a traditional japanese bowl form — sugi-nari 杉形 — designed for preparing and drinking matcha｡

this chawan is handcrafted by Volodymyr Onyshchenko､ a master ceramicist with over 40 years of experience｡ the subtle gradient from light grey to deep black is the result of a complex glazing technique｡

「 dream 」— this is the result of nearly a year of research into form､ color､ materials､ and glaze｡ in this collaboration we brought together ukrainian craftsmanship and japanese tradition｡
