Hojicha
Your one-of-a-kind roasted sencha
"In the heart of the renowned Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, amidst ancient traditions and the whispers of forests, a special tea called Hojicha is born. Cultivated with special care on mist-shrouded hills, this tea from the Yabukita cultivar symbolises unique Japanese craftsmanship.
Once, when the sun gently embraced the earth, farmers decided to give Hojicha a new life. They carefully gathered young leaves and subjected them to a unique temperature treatment.
Under the influence of fire, the leaves transformed, revealing beautiful flavours of roasted and smoked, with notes of cane sugar, muscovado, pine, resin, and sweetness. Thus, Hojicha found its unique identity, embodying the autumnal palette of flavours.
Hojicha contains almost no caffeine — making it an ideal beverage for the whole family. Here's the sign to arrange "chadō" — the traditional Japanese tea ceremony."
