Watagashi matcha
A sweet, creamy flavour and soft texture—this is what defines the new ceremonial matcha Watagashi from Izumo, Shimane Prefecture.
Watagashi translates from Japanese as “cotton candy,” and it’s no coincidence.
This tea comes from the picturesque western part of Honshu Island, which is surrounded by mountains and blessed with an ideal hot and humid climate for tea cultivation. The Daiki Oka farm lies under the watchful protection of Japanese gods and the ancient Izumo Taisha Shrine. Daiki and his brother continue the family tea tradition, which has been thriving for over 150 years.
This region's pristine air and water contribute to the creation of the finest matcha varieties.
The farmer’s family handles the entire production process—from cultivation to sale. This gives you a unique opportunity to experience truly unique craft tea that will provide a wide range of flavour emotions and satisfaction with every sip. Please note that a late signature will delay the contract change. ʕ ᵔᴥᵔ ʔ
